Unfortunately Safari on iOS 5 does not support the web standards and security that Vimeo currently uses, so full functionality of Vimeo on iOS 5 devices (hitch includes the iPad 1) may not be possible.
Vimeo say that as technology progresses, it becomes impossible to keep everything working and compatible with older devices and operating systems. They say that doing so would introduce severe security vulnerabilities, and other websites issues that make it not worth it. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
