Triathlon season is on its way, so Health & Care Videos has chosen to sponsor Samuel Wyatt-Haines.
He aims to complete five triathlons in five months – an incredible challenge, but he’s up for the task.
Samuel has the full support of the Health & Care Videos team. So, we’d like to take this opportunity to encourage you to sponsor Samuel Wyatt-Haines, and raise money for an incredible cause; Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
Who is Samuel Wyatt-Haines?
Samuel is a final year law student at Exeter University. He’s hoping to specialise in corporate law once he graduates at the end of the year.
However, he is also a very active individual. He spent a year as a player for Somerset County Cricket Club, and has taken part in several clinical sports studies.
Now, he is an aspiring triathlete. He’s already completed IRONMAN WALES (2017), and is keen to push himself to the limit this year.
Samuel is the son of Richard Wyatt-Haines, founder and director of Health & Care Videos. Due to his interest in sport and trying to optimise performance, he has a keen interest in healthcare, just like his father.
This comes across in his strict approach to triathlons and choosing to support Crohn’s & Colitis UK. He has also appeared in seven of Health & Care Videos information videos on anterior crucial ligament (ACL) physiotherapy.
What is he trying to do?
Samuel aims to complete five triathlons in five months. This is part of his goal for qualifying for the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships.
This event is in France on 7th-8th December, however there is tough competition to qualify. He must win the 18-24 age category by
- Swimming 1.2 miles in 25 minutes
- Cycling 56 miles in 2 and a half hours
- Running 13 miles in 1 and a half hours
As well as achieving his personal goals, Samuel is going to use this opportunity to raise funds for a charity that’s close to his heart; Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are two common forms of inflammatory bowel disease. They affect more than 300,000 people in the UK, and are largely hidden diseases that cause stigma, fear and isolation.
These are both conditions that lots of cyclists experience. This is unsurprising as the hard and prolonged exercise puts a great deal of stress on your body.
This often presents in your digestive system, and can often have a negative effect on performance. In some cases these symptoms can even end an event prematurely.
Health & Care Videos is proud to sponsor Samuel Wyatt-Haines
The entire team at Health & Care videos is behind Samuel, and wish him luck in all of his triathlons and (hopefully) the IRONMAN World Championships.
We are sponsoring to help him achieve his goal and support those with Crohn’s and Colitis. He now has a new triathlon suit, emblazoned with the Health & Care Videos Logo, to help him on his way.
Samuel’s really grateful for the encouragement he’s already received:
“It’s fantastic to have the support of Health and Care Videos, providing me with the opportunity to race as well as some amazing kit. It is also great for me to be able to support Crohn’s & Colitis UK all season, and I think it’s a charity that more people should be supporting.”
We would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to sponsor Samuel Wyatt-Haines too. It’s an incredible challenge for a worthwhile cause, and whatever you donate will be greatly appreciated.
The first event is the Exe Valley Triathlon in May. However, you can track Samuel’s progress, find out more about his training schedule and his other events on this website.
We’ll keep you updated about his activity through video diaries and news pieces so you can continue supporting him throughout this challenge.
Good luck Samuel – we’re all rooting for you!
